And guardian of her Son,
By angels warned, you kept them safe
From schemes the king had spun.
Lead all who journey far from home
And those who flee in fear.
Give light and peace to those who doubt,
And make their pathways clear.
Now ev'ry father's patron saint
And ev'ry Christian's guide,
Teach us to love and nurture life,
For children's needs provide.
Saint Joseph, strong and constant friend,
Be near in our distress.
Help us, like you, to hear God's call
And, trusting, answer "yes".
